NeRuDO has implemented community development project with “Small Grant” assistance from SNV/Nepal in Gaire Gaon village (Naldum Baluwa VDC Kavre District) with component like income generation, soil conservation, drinking water and buffalo raising program to enhance the income status of 30 farmer families (specially the Tamang Community).
Detail Of Project Activities:
- Organized farmer / beneficiary group
- Conducted training on livestock rearing
- A farmer trained on veterinary first aid
- Established a milk collecting center in the project area
- Distributed buffaloes to 13 farmers and they started delivering milk at the collecting center under loan assistance program
- Conducted Training for farmers on group concept and account keeping
- Plantation of 3000 sapling of fodder trees, covering 3 ha. of land
- Conducted environmental awareness discussion session
- Started livestock insurance scheme in group level
- Performed renovation of drinking water tank and installation of four drinking water tap stands in the project area
- Organized six participatory evaluation sessions in the village in participation of the project beneficiaries
NeRuDO helped the target group farmers to organize themselves into a village level cooperative society. A cooperative society named “Janakalyan Bahumukhi Sahakari Sanstha” was registered under the Cooperative Act of Nepal in the Naldum Baluwa VDC Kavre district. NeRuDO handed over the project revolving fund to the cooperative in as early as 1994.This cooperative is successfully operating in the form of village bank at present
